About this tool

How to use selective blur and permanent redaction

Conceal one selected part of an image with an adjustable blur, or permanently replace that region with an opaque color before exporting a newly encoded file.

Draw directly on the image

Drag across a face, plate, address or document field and see the selected region update immediately.

Blur or destroy pixels

Use blur for appearance, or choose the non-recoverable mask to overwrite the actual selected pixels.

Fresh local export

A new image is encoded in this browser without source EXIF metadata or an uploaded copy.

Three steps

  1. Choose an image

Open a JPG, PNG or WebP file from this device.

  2. Drag and choose a mode

Draw the region, then adjust blur strength or select the permanent mask and its color.

  3. Export a new file

Download the re-encoded image and verify the sensitive area before sharing it.

Supported output

JPG · PNG · WebP

Questions

Can an AI tool recover a non-recoverable mask?

It cannot recover the true overwritten pixels from the exported file. It may generate a plausible guess, which is not a restoration of the original content.

Is ordinary blur safe for passwords or identity documents?

Do not rely on blur for high-risk information. Use the permanent mask, then share only the new export and confirm that no original or thumbnail is published beside it.

Local processing

The image is decoded, edited and re-encoded in this browser. Nothing is uploaded, and the exported copy does not retain source EXIF metadata.
